I enjoy speaking to groups of all ages, from elementary students and high school art classes to college campuses and various interest groups. Generally, I speak about my journey bicycling Japan’s 88 Temple Pilgrimage route which led to the illustrated book, Temple by Temple.

I also speak on topics such as: stories and the meaning of journeys, experiencing and living in other cultures, the process of creating visual narratives, ways to cultivate connections through creativity, and living as a creative. I design my presentations to emphasize the particular interests and age of the group to which I am speaking.

In addition, I lead bookmaking workshops that examine the style and construction of Japanese stab binding in which participants are able to design and create their own books.
